Biography:
Dr. Rinker has
fifteen years of experience as an occupational physician. He is a private
consultant in occupational and environmental medicine. He currently
serves as the consulting medical director for several major biotechnology
and pharmaceutical research organizations. He is an Associate Professor
of Clinical Medicine at the University of California at San Francisco.
He is board certified in both occupational and internal medicine.

Biography:
Dr. Spahn has more
than thirty-five years experience in the field of microbiology and virology
with special emphasis on risk assessment and health and safety concerns
related to the biomedical laboratory. He serves as a consultant to many
biotechnology businesses on matters related to biomedical safety and
infectious waste management. Dr. Spahn has an in-depth knowledge of
the use patterns and chemistry of disinfectants and he has directed
a program studying the inactivation of microorganisms by chemical disinfectants.
He acts as Director of Safety at The Salk Institute, implementing radiological,
environmental, biological and chemical programs for compliance with
federal and state regulatory agencies. He has served as consultant on
the design and operation of high level containment laboratories (BSL-2,
BSL-3, and BSL-4).
