Dr. Sandra Pirela is a Toxicologist for SafeBridge Consultants, Inc. She has experience in the fields of molecular toxicology and occupational health and safety, as well as proficiency in a variety of in vivo and in vitro toxicology experimental models. She has conducted research assessing the effects of in utero exposure to cigarette smoke in the immune system in addition to evaluating the physical and chemical characteristics of particles emitted from nano-enabled products and their potential cardiopulmonary toxicity using physiologically relevant cell lines and animal models. Dr. Pirela worked previously as an Environmental Health and Safety consultant to ensure regulatory compliance with all the local, state and federal guidelines.
Dr. Pirela received her Sc.D. in Environmental Health from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, M.S. in Molecular Toxicology from New York University and B.S. from The City College of New York.
