James started his career in the pharmaceutical Industry where he held an EHS advisory position primarily focusing on implementation of corporate occupational hygiene standards in response to a company takeover. James then took a role with a specialty chemicals manufacturer where he worked as an occupational hygienist for two large manufacturing sites based in the southeast of the UK. His responsibilities included managing the extensive occupational exposure monitoring plan, containment testing and verification of equipment, and training in safe use of respiratory protective equipment. Within the same company, James then moved into a strategic position working as a Global Occupational Hygienist. In this role, he helped develop the long-term strategy in reducing a problematic, business specific, potent respiratory sensitizer.
